Ras Appliances CC has started as a one-man business in 1991. The founders Kallie & Barbara Ras started this family business from scratch. Their first place of business was from their private garage for almost 2 years, they then officially started Ras Appliances from January 1993 as a registered business at the Rand Akker Building in Reitz str, Brits, NW. In 1995 Schalk Ras, their oldest son, join in the family business. Their youngest son, Hannes Ras, followed in 2001. This family business grew from a one-man business to a blessed family business. Very proud of all our achievements throughout the years. Ras Appliances became the local service agents for Whirlpool, KIC, LG, Speed Queen, Bauer, Bosch etc.

We had a lot of highs as well as lows during our all these years. Thé lowest was In 2011 we received the devastating news that Barbara Ras was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. Barbara fought a very hard battle against this cruel disease but in October 2018 she passed away. Our world and business were shaken into pieces. Kallie made his two sons, Schalk Ras & Hannes Ras, officially co-partners to this family business. Day by day we tried to put the pieces together.

In July 2019 Ras Appliances moved to a new premise at 98 Harrington Str, Brits. This was a new start with a brand-new building and beliefs of more clients and business. In this time Ras Appliances becomes an authorized installer of Jet Air Air-conditioners.

However, in September 2019 Hannes Ras tragically passed away in a motor vehicle accident. Once again, our hearts, family and business shattered into a million pieces.

Elmien Ras (Schalk’s wife) joined the family business helping with the administration and general duties at Ras Appliances.

We have come so far with only the Mercy of God and are we thankful for His Grace upon us.
